South Carolina ETV
ETV Satellite Transition Information
On August 1, 2008 ETV will transition from the digicipher satellite technology used for the past 15 years to a new satellite technology. We are no longer able to secure parts for the transmission equipment and receivers for the old system. Installation of the receivers will begin no later than July 2008.
No satellite dishes will need to be moved or require additional equipment if your equipment is currently operational. This upgrade only involves changing out the digital receiver.
Public K-12 Schools and Districts
ETV will provide all public K-12 schools and districts with needed equipment and installation. ETV technicians will make these installations prior to the 08-09 school year. For questions contact mflamos@scetv.org.
Other Satellite Receive Sites
In order to continue to receive programming via the ETV satellite delivery system, each satellite receive site needs to replace their current receiver (s) with a new digital receiver. No satellite dishes will need to be moved or require additional equipment. This upgrade only requires changing out the digital receiver.
ALL NON-K12 users who wish to continue receiving ETV satellite service must purchase a new digital receiver. They are available for purchase directly from ETV. You can submit the order and an invoice will be sent to you. Installation is available for an additional fee. Detailed installation instructions are available as well if you choose to install it yourself.
We will update this website as additional information becomes available. Please email sokonek@scetv.org with any questions or concerns.
